FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of services do you offer?

Andi’s Angels Home Care, LLC is a non-medical home care agency that provides ADLs (Activities of daily living) services that do not require a physician’s order and are not paid by Medicare or medical insurance. These services commonly include bathing, dressing, incontinence care, toileting, mobility and transferring such light housekeeping, safety checks, and socialization. Our caregivers may prepare meals, provide transportation support for doctors’ appointments, errands, and grocery shopping and provide companionship.

How do you assess our needs?

Before we begin care, we personally visit each client and provide a free in-home care assessment which provides family members and future caregivers alike, the opportunity to tailor services in order to meet each client’s specific care concerns and challenges. The benefits of using a non-medical home care assessment form include getting an accurate idea of the level of care needed, identifying any special needs that must be met, and helping to create a personalized plan of care.

Do you have a minimum number of hours required?

The minimum daily requirement is five consecutive hours with a ten-hour weekly minimum and no monthly requirement. It is important to note that shorter shifts are often more difficult to fulfill and often times will not be the same caregiver.

How qualified are your caregivers?

Our team of Care Angels consists of caregivers, Certified Nursing Assistants, nursing students and Medical Technicians with five to10 plus years direct experience in the senior care profession.  They are all Specialty Care Experts which means they have extensive experience with Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Parkinson’s diseases, ALS and TIA’s as well as spinal cord injuries and end of life care.

What is your process for screening employees?

We screen our employees through a comprehensive process that includes a thorough background check including criminal checks in the last 7 states that a caregiver has resided, detailed inquiry into references and credentials, and multiple phone and in-person interviews. We also evaluate our caregivers on specific skills to determine real-world proficiency.

What happens if I do not like my caregiver?

If a caregiver is not a good fit, you have the flexibility to request someone different. It is important to communicate your concerns to our agency so that we can collaborate with you to quickly find a better match.

How do you manage care changes on short notice or when something happens after the office is closed?

Andi is available to her clients 24/7/365.  We understand that you may need to change or alter the home care schedule. The goal is to make the plan work for your family, not the agency. Although one week’s notice is asked for permanent schedule changes, Andi’s Angels understands unexpected changes are sometimes necessary on short notice. Our office staff will do everything possible to ensure you get the schedule you need to accommodate emergencies.

Do you have 24-hour caregivers?

Andi’s Angels caregivers are available for 24-hour shifts; however, we do not provide live-in care.  We will provide care at 3 (8) hours shifts or 2 (12) hour shifts in a 24 hour period.

What if I do not have enough money to pay for services?

There are several options available to help pay for non-medical home care. Some people may use a combination of sources to create a care budget, including annuities, investments and savings, life insurance policies that can be used for qualified home-care expenses through cash value or an accelerated death benefit, borrowing and long-term care policies.  We advise you to seek advice from a reputable and licensed financial planner.

How do I determine if my long-term care policy covers a professional caregiver?

We are happy to speak to you regarding your long-term care policy and advise you as to the next steps.  Your Long-Term Insurance company will be able to explain to you the benefits and limitations, waiting periods along with an explanation of benefits and anything else you need to get started.  Most policies will reimburse you for care given in a variety of places, such as your home, a nursing home, an assisted living facility, or an adult day care center. Some long-term care insurance policies may even allow family members to get paid as caregivers.

How can you help a Veteran or surviving spouse of a Veteran?

Our agency specializes in helping Veterans and/or their surviving spouses get funding from the VA to pay for home care. We have the ability to fast track eligibility and approval with two benefits with our in-house licensed VA partner at no cost to the veteran and we are an authorized and credentialed veteran’s community provider in the Veterans Tri-West network.

Is your home care agency licensed, bonded, and insured?

We are fully insured, which allows our clients to enjoy safe and quality care they can trust.

What is the difference between non-medical home care and medical in-home services?

The primary difference between non-medical home care and medical in-home care is the level of medically skilled care administered by the home health care staff. Another difference is cost. Insurance usually covers medical in-home care while non-medical home care is privately paid unless you have coverage under a long-term care policy.

Does Andi’s Angels utilize home care technology?

We utilize the WellSky Personal Care software technology to better manage and optimize care delivery and back-office operations. WellSky’s mobile app technology helps us stay connected with and equip our caregivers to best manage their care shifts and our client’s care.

How can I receive updates for my loved one, for family members or other interested parties?

With the WellSky Personal Care software, we keep families connected with the Family Room feature. This is a free and secure access portal that gives loved one’s access to the client care calendar and progress notes.
